I began woodworking in a serious way more than 20 years ago…

As these things often do, I began woodworking in a small way in our garage in San Jose, CA. Over time the collection of tools began to grow and the projects I took on became larger and larger.

In 2006 I began doing woodturning. This started with a small “midi” lathe doing small projects like pens and other useful items.

In 2010 we moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains to a five acre forested hillside. The workshop moved into the garage of our new house to begin with. However, we always knew that we wanted to build a dedicated workshop space on our property. In 2014 we built a 1000 sq foot workshop and moved all the tools out of the garage.

Fast forward to today and our dedicated workshop allows for multiple projects to progress at the same time. I’ve also added a second, full sized lathe as well as a CNC machine that can shape boards up to two by four feet.
